FILE.ID
-------
This is an idea taken from several other platforms, where
a textfile that contains all important info to enable a
SysOp or NetWork Co-Ordinator to enter better descriptions,
as all the info is right at hand
Hopefully sometime in the future the authors of the top
two compression formats will someday include a BBS and
NetWork friendly tool/utility that will be able to read this
text file while inside their respective formats compressed
files and pass the below listed info to the various BBS and
NetWork packages for auto-inclusion into the respective file
listings.
Various BBS and NetWork packages could then pick what
fields they desire to convey the info needed for their
respective packages.
This would allow the authors to have the descriptions and
info they deem important auto-entered into the listings.
Lastly, it would also be GREAT if the authors of
.CPT
.SIT
formats would have a menu option in their utilities that
authors could select, enter the appropiate info and save the
info in its format to a textfile named "FILE.ID" inside the
compressed file.
